You’ve probably wondered what would happen if you combined Élite and The Crown with a heavy dose of Skam, the Nordic counterpart of Skins. Well, here’s your chance to find out. We didn’t think so, but that didn’t stop Lisa Ambjörn, Lars Beckung, and Camilla Holter from doing just that with Young Royals, Netflix’s latest teen obsession. Lisa Ambjörn, Lars Beckung, Camilla Holter Fortunately, it works, and the show is even more addicting than you might expect from the premise. Season one followed Prince Wilhelm as he managed the complexities of royal responsibilities while also pursuing a young love at Hillerska Boarding School. Swedish royalty was forced to choose between the throne and his feelings for Simon, a fellow student whose family is not exactly of the royal sort, by the end of the first season.
The programme had to be renewed immediately after such a dramatic cliffhanger, and Netflix has already confirmed that Young Royals will actually return for a second season, which is wonderful news. Having learned of the official renewal, here is everything you need to know about Young Royals season 2.
Who Will be a Part of the Young Royals Season 2 Cast?
Edvin Ryding, who plays Prince Wilhelm in Young Royals season two, is one of the few actors who can be counted on to be back in the role. Expect him to be accompanied by the following individuals:
• Omar Rudberg in the role of Simon
• Malte Grdinger in the role of August
• Frida Argento in the role of Sara
• Nikita Uggla in the role of Felice
• Pernilla August as Queen Kristina of Sweden, a role she originated.
• Nathalie Varli in the role of Madison
• Carmen Gloria Pérez in the role of Linda
Both Ryding and Rudberg have a strong emotional connection to their respective personalities.
“There are some qualities about these people that we can identify with,” Ryding explained to Numero. “When it comes to his issues with anxiousness, I can see myself in Wilhelms. I’ve done my homework on the royal families, but there’s so much more to it than what we, as ordinary citizens, are aware of or are allowed to know. As a result, we’ll never know what it’s like on the inside. What I’ve read and seen lead me to believe that being a young royal is not something I’d want to be a part of.”
For a day or a week, Rudberg said, “but not for a lifetime.” Rudberg agreed that it would be fun to experiment with it. “Edvin, on the other hand, tried his hardest to act like a prince on set at times. I can identify with Simon on a number of levels. While at school, he converses in Spanish with his peers, but he also speaks Spanish at home with his Latin American mother, who is equally fluent in the language. They are linked together by this small thread. Simon’s life at school is not an easy one for him, and I recognise myself in him in this regard. I, on the other hand, cannot relate to his academic performance.”
Following the death of Crown Prince Erik in season one, Ivar Forsling is one of the stars who may not be back for season two. Even still, Erik’s influence on Wilhelm was significant, and it is highly feasible that he will appear in flashback scenes throughout season two of the show.
Season 2 Plot Summary: What Will the Second Season of Young Royals be About?
Wilhelm and Simon’s relationship swiftly came crashing down after a sex tape featuring the couple was leaked in August. Wilhelm was persuaded to lie about his role in order to protect his family, but in doing so, he also betrayed Simon in the process, which he regrets.
Wilhelm inquires of Simon in the season one conclusion, asking if they may continue to be together in secret. Anything more than that could have a negative impact on the Crown’s image. For Simon, though, this isn’t good enough, and as a result, things between them are officially over. Or at least that’s what he believes, because it’s evident at the conclusion that both kids are still in love with each other.
Do you think Wilhelm will continue to follow his mother’s orders in season two? We have our doubts. Given that he and Simon will continue to encounter each other at Hillerska, there will be a great deal of sexual tension to deal with in future episodes… although this is presuming, of course, that Simon can even forgive Wilhelm for what he did in the first place…
When Will Young Royals Season 2 be Available to Watch Online?
