The Wild Season 2: Cast, Plot, Release Date and More!

The Wild Season 2

In December 2020, Amazon surprised many people with a new show called “The Wilds.” The show is about eight teenage girls who crash their plane and end up on a deserted island. Does that sound familiar? At first, it sounds a lot like the idea behind “Lost” or “Lord of the Flies,” but that’s about all they have in common.

Before the crash, the eight girls think they are going to Hawaii for a programme called Dawn of Eve, which is about giving women more power.

When they crash and have to survive on their own on the island, they forget why they were on the plane in the first place until a few strange things happen that make them think there’s more going on.

The teens don’t know it, but they are part of a planned social experiment, and the plane crash is a set-up.

The first season is mostly about the teenage girls and how hard it is for them to stay alive on the island.

There are flashbacks to their lives before the crash and to what happens after they are “rescued” and are being held in an unknown place and being questioned by two people who say they are FBI agents.

The first season of “The Wilds” has 10 episodes, and it was a huge hit for Amazon. Season 2 was quickly renewed.

The Wilds Cast for Season 2

Rachel Griffiths (Gretchen), David Sullivan (Daniel), Troy Winbush (Dean), Sophia Ali (Fatin), Sarah Pidgeon (Leah), Jenna Clause (Martha), Erana James (Toni), Mia Healey (Shelby), Helena Howard (Nora), Reign Edwards (Rachel), and Shannon Berry (Dot) will all be back for season 2.
The new men in the cast and their roles have also been set in stone.

Rafael Garcia is played by Zack Calderon. He is a quiet teen from Tijuana who now lives in San Diego.

Henry Tanaka, played by Aidan Laprete, is a recluse who gets lost in the darkness of the world.

Nicholas Coombe plays Josh Herbert, who is also from San Diego and likes to talk. Josh is awkward and nervous because he worries about getting sick, unlike his athletic family.

Kirin O’Conner, Charles Alexander’s on-screen alter ego, is an inpatient lacrosse player who is happy to be in charge of the castaways.

Miles Guttierez-Riley plays Ivan Taylor, an activist who wants to write a play and has a sharp sense of humour, often at the expense of other people.

Reed Shannon plays an ambitious businessman from Florida named Scotty Simms. Tanner Ray Rook plays Scotty’s friend Bo, who is quiet and has a simple view of life.

Alex Fitzalan plays Seth Novak, who is funny, very smart, and has no trouble getting people to respect him.

Season 2 of The Wilds Plot

The Wild Season 2

At the end of Season 1 of “The Wilds,” there are some big reveals that set up the main storylines for Season 2. One of the biggest surprises is the Twilight of Adam, but another important moment is when it turns out that Nora has known about the programme and what’s going on the whole time.

She is keeping the truth from everyone, even her twin sister Rachel, who is an identical twin. In the last episode of Season 1, a girl named Leah finds out the truth about Nora and tries to talk to her about it.

To get Leah out of the way, Nora leads her to an open pit and leaves her there. She can either climb out or wait for the Dawn of Eden staff to come to save her.

After the group is supposed to have been saved, they are questioned by people who later turn out to be Dawn of Eden employees.

This shows that Gretchen’s experiment is not over yet. At the end of the season, Leah even tries to get out of the new facility, but it’s not clear if she’s successful. In the flash-forwards, Nora and Martha, two important characters, have not been seen, and it is still not clear what will happen to them in the future.

There are hints here and there that one or both of them have had a bad end. For example, Rachel talks about her sister in the past tense, and the staff at Dawn of Eve looks through Martha’s things.

Fans of “The Wilds” shouldn’t have to wait too long to find out what’s going on.

Season 2 of The Wilds Release Date

Even before the renewal was announced, showrunner Amy B. Harris told Variety that her writers’ room already had a “very strong blueprint” for Season 2.

She also said that Amazon had asked her, “What’s the hook for next season?” as a hint that they wanted to order a second season.

If you’ve already seen TheWilds Season 1 (warning: this is a spoiler if you haven’t), this is why there was a second control group at the very end of the season.

Wilds Season 2 was released on Friday, May 2, 2022,  as the series’ official Twitter account revealed in a February 2022 tweet.
