The Rising Of The Shield Hero Season 2 Review- The Plot
There were indicators. After Naofumi finished his vengeance on Bitch, things slowed down to a halt in season 1 for two to three episodes as the story took a different turn than most people expected.
People let such bits pass by uninjured because it was only a few episodes after a spectacular sequence of episodes, and we cut the show some mercy. There were raised eyebrows and concerns, but no one expected things to get this terrible in the sequel.
The series never recovered from the slow crawl of the final few episodes of Season 1 and continued at a dismal clip throughout the next season. The action and intensity of the first season vanished without explanation and have yet to return.
In the light novel, this phase of the story was slower and more deliberate, building up to various plot developments that would be essential in the future. Deliberation is vital here, as the anime ended up breaking down the novel into “more digestible” chunks and removing several major parts laden with important future data.

The Rising Of The Shield Hero Season 2 was out to destroy every character arc it could. No character was immune from being completely slaughtered at the hands of this show’s writers, and it succeeded.
Because of their deeds in prior seasons, this season made you detest or become indifferent to every character you dared to like. Is it possible that the showrunners didn’t want this season to fail?
Naofumi went into the same cycle of rage and vengeance as previously, with a considerably less successful resolution this time. He was less expressive and more stoic than before, almost as if he had forgotten part of what he had learned the previous season.
Raphtalia and Filo fared no better since despite being there for the entire season, none of them left much of an impact after the series ended. Raphtalia obtained a new power, which the program stopped mentioning as soon as it accomplished its sole purpose. I will not go into detail about the three other heroes as the show did.
