Poker Face Episode 9 Recap
‘Escape from Shit Mountain’ opens with Trey Nelson, who is thrown under house arrest after being convicted of insider trading.
Trey uses his ankle monitor to drive around the snow-covered region to get away from his frustrating routine and dull life when it is turned off for the night.
While Trey is imprisoned in his home, Charlie arrives and falls in love with Luke, who enjoys the mountains and woods. Luke forces Charlie to immerse herself in the region’s beauty, but she can’t stand it when winter suffocates her.
She meets Morty Bernstein, a kleptomaniac, and they both decide to flee the place, eventually ending up in Denver. During Charlie and Morty’s trip to Denver, they nearly hit a deer, prompting Charlie to crash into the snow to avoid killing the animal.
Morty drives to the nearby petrol station in search of a tow truck, and Charlie is hit by Trey’s automobile.
Trey takes Charlie to a motel managed by his friend Jimmy, where they both dump her in a makeshift grave under a tree, believing she is dead. Charlie eventually emerges from the dead using a human bone. At the same moment, Morty arrives at the motel.
As she comes finds the bone, they determine it belongs to Chloe Jones, a missing child. Morty chooses to tell the cops about the bone because of the monetary prize for providing any information regarding Chloe.
Trey gives Morty his Lamborghini in exchange for not involving the cops. Despite her agreement to the deal, Trey murders her to avoid any risk.
He then turns on Charlie, who informs Jimmy that Trey murdered his friend Chloe. Jimmy loses trust in Trey and intervenes between him and Charlie.
Trey murders his best friend and stabs Charlie before burying both of them in the same cemetery. He returns to his residence just as his ankle monitor turns on, but he sees that it isn’t attached to him.
Charlie switches on the monitor at the tomb. Authorities track her down and rescue her. They also discover the bodies of Jimmy and Morty, prompting Trey to be charged with murder.

Why Did Trey Kill Chloe?
When Morty realizes that the stick Charlie brought from the grave is a bone from the missing Chloe, Trey tries everything he can to keep the two women from involving the authorities.
He even murders Morty in order to keep Chloe’s death a secret. Nonetheless, Charlie’s suspicion that Trey murdered Chloe helps to solve the mystery surrounding the latter’s death. Trey informs Jimmy that he did not murder Chloe, only for the human lie detector to detect this and assume that he did.
Trey informs Jimmy about killing Morty and adds that he would not let a woman “go crazy on him again,” implying that he has a history with a woman prior to Morty.
Jimmy puts the pieces together and realizes Trey murdered his friend Chloe. Trey and Chloe appeared to be a couple. According to Trey, Chloe used to “go crazy on” him when they were together.
Although the convicted felon does not specify what his former girlfriend did, it might have been anything that upset him.
Trey is a cold-blooded murderer who won’t hesitate to shoot his best buddy in the face, therefore even a normal dispute between the boyfriend and girlfriend could have prompted Trey to murder Chloe.
After murdering her, he carried her body to Jimmy and informed him that she died from the drugs given to them by the motel owner, making him feel terrible enough to hide/bury the body in “the spot” with his best friend.
