Mayans M.C. Season 4 has carried the FX series ahead in some huge ways, with major shake-ups affecting the face of the namesake club. In contrast to Angel Reyes, who has been on the rise, EZ Reyes has been on the down, which culminates in a startling Season 4 finale. Here’s a spoiler-filled review of what happened in Mayans M.C. Season 4, Episode 10, “When the Breakdown Hit at Midnight.”
The Mayans Meet With the Sons of Anarchy
The Santo Padre Mayans bury Coco, who was killed earlier in the season by the Sons of Anarchy, in the episode “When the Breakdown Hit at Midnight.”. Because he is ashamed of having slept with Coco’s daughter Letty after her father’s death, Angel keeps a safe distance from the rest of them. Letty ultimately goes off on the Mayans, screaming that they didn’t deserve Coco and that she can never forgive them for what happened. After the funeral, Angel comes home to Adelita and baby Maverick. When Adelita inquires about the funeral, Angel affirms that it was a terrible experience. Angel smothers his son in affection as the entire family embraces him.
Mayans M.C. then switches to Tig Trager seeing Terry in the hospital after Santo Padre nearly killed the Sons of Anarchy member in its raid on UC Davis. The Mayans’ sponsor has returned, and Tig accuses Terry of instigating the war. Tig continues choking Terry, but he stops when a nurse interrupts them.
Jay-Jay and EZ cross paths somewhere. EZ is willing to pay him $80,000 to assist him in tying up some loose ends. EZ then pulls a gun on Jay-Jay, declaring him to be that loose end. He tells Jay-Jay that if he shoots himself, his family will get $80,000. The only thing they stand to lose is EZ’s life. Jay-Jay tries to persuade EZ that he has a family and that he saved him while he was in prison. While Jay-Jay believes that EZ’s actions will have an impact on his karma, the Mayan believes otherwise. Jay-Jay then puts the rifle under his chin but decides not to shoot himself. In the end, EZ is the one who gets the last laugh.
Alvarez and Tig eventually meet in Los Angeles, as it’s between Santo Padre and Charming. Alessandro Montez’s kutte and body were discovered on Santo Padre’s property, and that’s how the war got started, according to Tig. Alvarez says he doesn’t know anything about that, but it’s clear he’s going to look into things more. Once again, Alvarez and Tig demonstrate their polar opposite views on war. The former appears dissatisfied with the prospect of a new challenge, whereas the latter appears ecstatic. It’s also where we learn that Terry’s sponsor is the younger brother of Les Packer, the San Bernardino Sons of Anarchy leader. The two say their goodbyes with a hug, knowing that the next time they meet might not be quite as friendly.
Mayan Meetings Go Very Wrong
At a restaurant, the various non-Santo Padre Mayans groups meet. They believe the Reyes brothers killed Canche. However, before they can decide on any definite action, the Sons of Anarchy attack, taking the Mayans prisoner. Later, it’s revealed Isaac — the antagonist of Coco’s Meth Mountain plot last season — is Terry’s sponsor and a member of the Sons of Anarchy. Isaac was presumed dead after having been shot in the throat by Coco at the end of last season. Isaac murders Manny but spares another Mayan, allowing him to serve as a messenger about the “fire” that is coming.
Manny isn’t the only one who meets an unfortunate end in “When the Breakdown Hit at Midnight.” After revealing that she’s an officer to Creeper, Kody meets with her former lover, saying she can protect him. However, she says they have more than enough information to take down both Creeper and the Santo Padre club. She also notes someone at the Santo Padre club was working with the police at one point, but she doesn’t know who.
Still, Kody says that, if Creeper cooperates, they may be able to still have a relationship in the future. Later, Creeper meets with the police. While he could have abandoned the group, instead he confesses to the crimes the police are looking into and claims that he was the one who carried out the killings without Santo Padre’s knowledge or involvement. Creeper will almost certainly be going to jail for the rest of his life.
Not everything is terrible, though. After getting a speech from Louie about Coco’s love for her, Letty gets her dead father’s car. She then goes and gets Hope off the street, stopping her just before she shoots up again.
Season 4 of Mayans M.c. Will Focus on
In Season 4, EZ Reyes (played by JD Pardo) must carve out a new identity in a town where he was once the golden boy and looks to carve out a bigger, more central role for himself within the club. Located on the California/Mexico border, the Mayans M.C. series follows Reyes, a newly minted member of this motorcycle club’s charter.
The show tells the story of many members of the M.C., but the story focuses on EZ and his brother, Angel, who grapple with their mother’s murder. While trying to cope with the rage inside him over his mother’s death, EZ sees his rage drive him toward a life of crime and violence in his pursuit of vengeance over his mother’s killing.
