Kim Corinna Raver was born and reared in New York City by her stepfather Chris Meltesen and mother Tina Maltesen. Her father was a writer, photographer, cinematographer, and director Milson Carroll “M. Carroll” Raver. Cybele Raver is her sister.
She shares a father with Nadja and James Raver from his second marriage as well as Grace, Aimee, and William Raver from his third and last marriage, giving her a total of five half-siblings.
Actor Bryan Callen was a classmate of hers at Northfield Mount Hermon School, a residential school in Northfield, Massachusetts. Raver studied acting at Boston University, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts.
With mentor and instructor Wynn Handman, Raver is continuing his studies in drama in New York. She learned German as a young child from her German-born mother, and she is fluent in both languages.
