He first played music with a family band called “The Weirz.” In 1975 and 1979, two albums with his name on them came out. Then, on American Bandstand, he sang a version of “She Did It” by Eric Carmen. On the daytime TV show “The Young and the Restless,” Michael got to play the singer Danny Romalotti.
He was in the show for 12 years, and when he played the lead role of Joseph in “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, the show broke a single-day box office record.
He and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat were shown at the Minskoff Theatre 231 times between November 10, 1993 and May 29, 1994.
