Anika Noni Rose has gotten married! On Jan. 17, three months after marrying fellow actor Jason Dirden, 42, the “Princess and the Frog” star, 50, announced her wedding on Twitter. “So, I did something significant. Rose revealed information about the couple’s wedding in a new Brides interview, which was also published on January 17. Neither star publicly acknowledged their relationship or engagement, but Rose revealed to the site that her husband proposed in December 2021 during his family’s annual Secret Santa Zoom.
“Jason played a lovely movie he made of our time together, accompanied by Norah Jones‘ ‘Come Away With Me,’ and a phone chat between Jason and his father about love, partnership, and Jason’s wish to propose,” Rose remembered. “When the video concluded, with all of our friends and family watching, he got down on one knee and proposed to me.”
After considering their busy schedules, the couple decided to marry on Oct. 16, 2022, despite the fact that the date only afforded them two months to organize their wedding day. “We didn’t expect to have only eight weeks to organize a wedding. We intended to stay for a year “Dirden revealed.
They married on the lawn of the Paramour Estate in Los Angeles, surrounded by close friends and family, in a stunning ceremony performed by “Euphoria” star Colman Domingo.
According to Brides, the pair completed their wedding night with a joyful reception that featured Domingo doing the electric slide and an evening bike ride, which was a special request from the groom because the two like riding bikes together.

Though Anika Noni Rose and Dirden have generally kept their relationship private, Brides adds that the two originally met as costars in a Broadway production of “A Raisin in the Sun” in 2014. “We were pals for a couple of years,” Rose revealed.
“We each went our separate ways, were separated for a spell, and then swung back.” “It was the appropriate moment for both of us to be open and available for the prospect of what we have now,” Dirden remarked.

Rose also stated that “neither of us actually wanted to wind up with someone in the business,” but that their jobs do not interfere with their relationship. “We have a good time. We have a lot of fun, which is quite important “She went on to say. “And we don’t talk about business much.”
