Former ‘scrubs’ Writer Arrested for the 18th Time on S*X Abuse and Assault Accusations.

LOS ANGELES  A former writer and producer for the popular television programme “Scrubs” was taken into custody once more after prosecutors brought 18 accusations of sexual abuse and assault against him.

Eric Weinberg was taken into custody by the Los Angeles police department on Tuesday afternoon. He was later freed after posting a bail bond in the amount of $5 million.

According to the documents filed with the court on September 28, Weinberg was charged with a total of 18 counts of criminal activity. These charges include rape, sexual battery, assault, oral coitus, false detention, and forcible penetration by a foreign object. It is anticipated that he will be arraigned on October 25 in the central business district of Los Angeles.

On Wednesday, the District Attorney George Gascón stated that the allegations involve five alleged victims and that the alleged crimes date back to 2014. However, he stated that investigators have a “strong suspicion” that there are “many more” victims, and he urged those victims to come forward.

“The defendant used his position of influence to entice young ladies to participate in picture assignments with him, where he then allegedly sexually assaulted them,” Gascón said in his statement. “We will hold anyone who performs such acts accountable, regardless of your employment, your income, or your privilege,” the sentence reads. “We will not tolerate it.”

According to him, Weinberg is “a man who believed that he could do immense harm and yet stay untouchable, and he did for many years.” He went on to say that Weinberg did remain untouchable for many years.

According to the office of the district attorney, the alleged attacks on women occurred as follows: two in the year 2014, one each in the years 2017, 2018, and 2019, and one in 2019.

Gascón stated that his office requested that Weinberg be held without bail; however, a court instead set bond at $5 million, which the wealthy producer was able to post. Gascón added that Weinberg was able to post bail.

Weinberg was taken into custody for the first time in July on suspicion of having committed “sexual assaults including rape” between the years 2012 and 2019.

According to the investigators with the LAPD, Weinberg “appears to have targeted women in grocery stores, coffee shops, and other public locations” and invited them to his home for photo shoots. It was at his home that the alleged sexual assaults took place.

In the past, detectives have stated that there is a possibility that there are further victims who were maybe raped as far back as the early 1990s.

The television shows “Scrubs,” “Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher,” “Californication,” and “American Dad” are among those on which Weinberg has been credited as a producer and writer.
