Destiny 2 Season 17: Is This Season Coming to an End?

destiny 2 season 17

As more and more people join Season 16 of Destiny 2, the focus is slowly shifting to the release of Season 17. After how well the Witch Queen expansion did, the next season of post-launch content has a lot to live up to.

Season 17 is probably a building block that sets the stage for Lightfall, the next significant expansion that will come to the game sometime in 2023. Even though the next evolution isn’t out yet, there’s still a lot to look forward to.

With the new season about to start, people are getting more excited. So, if you want to know everything there is to know about Destiny 2 Season 17, check out our hub, which is full of the most recent information.

Forbes says a recent leak showed that a “Destiny 1” Exotic would be added to “Destiny 2” Season 17.

Because the censored exotic wasn’t changed in the Japanese version, the developers accidentally revealed that this old Exotic would be back when they posted their “This Week at Bungie” blog.

This made it easy for players to discover that The Trespasser will come in Season 17. Rise of Iron, part of Destiny 1, was where this exotic sidearm was first seen.

The part of the blog that gave it away was a section about “outliers” for Destiny 2’s new Airborne Effectiveness stat, which included a (REDACTED) weapon. This redaction did not work in Japan, so the exotic was revealed.

Destiny 2 Season 17 Will have New Things

On Destiny Tracker’s Twitter feed, a list of all the new content for the new season has been posted. We don’t have essential facts about this information yet, but this page will be changed as soon as we do.

What’s in Destiny 2 Season 17?

New Dungeon Dungeons are activities for three players with Raid-like mechanics and encounters. We expect another one to be added in Season 17.

In recent months, players have been upset that Dungeons are locked behind the Digital Deluxe Edition of Witch Queen. The developer, Bungie, has said that players can upgrade their purchases later.

Bungie had said that new Raids or Dungeons would be added every three months, a new schedule for Destiny 2. In an April 14 blog post, Bungie confirmed that a new Dungeon would be added in Season 17.

Changes in raids

In Bungie’s most recent blog post, more details about the next rotation of Raid content in Destiny 2 were shared.

Starting with Season 17, Raid activities will be separated into Seasonal and Weekly groups “so players can have a little more variety,” said the game’s developers.

The latest Raid and Dungeon will give Pinnacle rewards for all encounters on the Seasonal side. This includes the upcoming Season 17 Dungeon. The game will change the Raids and Dungeons every seven days on the weekly side. Completing a specific Weekly Challenge will give you a single Pinnacle reward.

Rest assured that these groups will never mix, so Vow of the Disciple will never be both a Seasonal Raid and a Weekly Raid at the same time.

In case you forgot, the current Destiny 2 Raids are:

Crucible maps

Disjunction is a new PvP map on Savathun’s Throne World.

It will be perfect for the return of Rift, which is coming back in Season 17 as part of a significant change to Iron Banner. In Season 18, it will be added to the Crucible.

Changes to Trials of Osiris

In Season of the Risen, there were significant changes to Gambit. In Season 17, it’s the turn of the Trials of Osiris.

Destiny 2’s best PvP mode has been changed a lot in recent months, but Bungie said in a pre-Witch Queen blog post that it would be changed again in Season 17.

“Don’t worry, Trials fans. Even though Gambit is the main focus of Season 16, we still have some fun changes in store,” the post says. So far, these changes have been talked about:

Destiny 2 Season 17 New PVP Map

We’re getting a brand-new Destiny 2 PvP map for the first time in years. Disjunction is a symmetrical map set in the swamps of Savathun’s Throne World. It is built around the idea of lanes. Part of this is because the Rift game mode from Destiny 1 is back.

Rift is very similar to Halo’s Oddball mode, and players compete to grab and hold on to a Spark that appears in the middle of the map. You get more points the longer you can hold on to the Spark. Rift will also be the new Iron Banner activity, a much bigger deal.
