“Conversations With a Killer: The John Wayne Gacy Tapes” on Netflix tells the story of John’s serial killing and how he was found guilty of more than 30 murders. Before John met Carole, he had been given a 10-year prison sentence in Iowa for sodomy. But he was a good prisoner and was let out after about 18 months. Then he moved back to Chicago, Illinois, and bought a house in Norwood Park.

Then, in October 1971, John began going out with Carole Hoff. She was said to be nice but quiet, and she had two daughters. When they were younger, they knew each other.

John asked her to move in soon after. According to the show, he wanted to be honest with her before they got married, so he told her he had been in jail before.

But she did think that John had changed, and in June 1972, she married him. He also told Carole he was bisexual before they got married, but she thought he was joking.

At first, the relationship seemed fine, but John’s actions soon caused it to fall apart. Carole later remembered that he had pictures of naked men, and at one point she found the wallets of several teenage boys in his car.

Also, Carole’s mother said that John’s house in Norwood Park smelled like “dead rats” all the time. Later, the police would find more than 20 bodies buried on the land.

In the end, Carole didn’t like being married. She thought John worked all the time and didn’t like it when he hung out with teenage boys.

According to the show, Carole said that they didn’t have sex much anymore and that he didn’t want anything to do with her. They were married for almost four years before they split up in March 1976.

After the divorce, John killed a lot of other men until he was caught in December 1978. He was finally given a death sentence. In the end, Carole said in a TV interview that John had sexual problems with women. “He would throw furniture,” she said about the killings.

What Happened to John Wayne Gacy?

After his second divorce, Gacy kept killing until he finally confessed on December 22, 1978.

History says that he was found guilty of 33 sex-related murders two years later and given a death sentence.

Even though he was given a death sentence in 1980, he did not get the lethal injection until 1994, after all of his appeals had been turned down.

On May 10, 1994, he died at the Stateville Prison in Joliet, Illinois.

Gacy’s story has been told many times over the years, and it is now the focus of a new documentary series on Netflix called Conversations with a Killer: The John Wayne Gacy Tapes.
